When to consider the McLean DRS for a crossbow
The Dynamic Retention Sling is McLean’s adjustable sling with a retained-carry system. It can be an option for a crossbow when the bow has suitable, manufacturer-approved attachment provisions and the correct connecting hardware is selected.
Choose it for the carry design, after confirming fit. It is not a guarantee that every Ravin, TenPoint, Barnett or other crossbow accepts the same mounts. Do not assume a pair of rifle-style QD swivels is included or that a crossbow already has compatible QD sockets.

Ravin crossbow slings
Ravin lists its R260 Shoulder Sling with an adjustable 2.5-inch padded neoprene section, quick-detach swivels and a thumb loop. Ravin says that accessory fits its crossbow models. What makes a crossbow sling comfortable?
The shoulder contact area
A padded or wider shoulder section can spread pressure, while a slim strap takes up less space. Consider how it sits next to your pack straps and whether the pad stays on your shoulder. Comfort claims cannot tell you how a particular bow, coat and backpack will feel together.
Adjustment for autumn layers
Compare fit with both lighter clothing and the outer layers you expect to wear later in the season. Ask for the usable adjustment range if the seller does not publish it. Avoid treating package dimensions as strap dimensions.
The complete hardware package
Compare the sling price together with any required approved attachments. “Quick detach” is not a universal interface: a removable swivel for a stud is different from a push-button swivel for a socket. Photos of the exact attachment points help a manufacturer or dealer identify the right hardware.
