The Sylvan Arms M-LOK QD sling attachment adds a quick detach sling point to any M-LOK handguard or foregrip. It carries both a non-rotation QD socket and a standard sling loop, so it takes a QD swivel or a clip-type sling without changing hardware, and it moves between M-LOK slots without tools.

Does your rifle have M-LOK?

M-LOK slots are elongated rounded rectangles cut through the handguard, usually in rows along the sides and underside. They are the most common modern attachment standard, and unlike Picatinny they sit flush, so there is no rail to catch on gear.

If your handguard has flat-topped rail with crosswise slots instead, you want the Picatinny rail mount with swivel. If it has neither, check whether the gun already has a QD socket built in — many do, and then you only need a QD swivel.

Why non-rotation matters

A standard QD swivel spins freely in its socket. That is usually what you want, but on a front handguard point a rotating socket lets the whole mount creep around the slot under load. The non-rotation design locks the attachment's orientation to the handguard while the swivel itself still turns, so the sling can twist as you move without the mount walking out of position.

Repositionable without tools

You can move the attachment between M-LOK slots to change where the front anchor sits. That is worth doing deliberately rather than once: further forward gives a longer span between anchors so the rifle rides level and swings less; further back brings the gun up faster and tighter but drops the muzzle lower. It is the single easiest adjustment to make to how a two-point sling feels, and most people never try it.

Keep the front and rear anchors on the same side of the rifle, or both on the centreline — opposite sides put a permanent half twist in the webbing. More in our guide to AR-15 sling attachment points.

Both attachment types

  • QD socket — takes a push-button quick detach swivel, so the sling comes off the gun in about a second.
  • Sling loop — takes a clip, snaphook or webbing loop from a conventional sling.

Having both means one attachment covers whatever sling you end up running, including a spare or a borrowed one.

Works with the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling, our patented two-point-to-one-point convertible. See the full hardware range in quick detach sling mounts, or find your gun on the sling fitment pages.

Frequently asked questions

Is M-LOK the same as KeyMod?
No. KeyMod slots have a distinctive keyhole shape, round at one end and slotted at the other. M-LOK slots are plain rounded rectangles. The two are not interchangeable, so confirm which your handguard uses before ordering.

What does this attachment provide?
It provides the mounting point itself: a non-rotation QD socket plus a sling loop on one M-LOK-compatible unit. Push-button QD swivels are available separately if you need one.

Can I mount it on the bottom of the handguard?
You can, and it is a reasonable choice for a pure carry setup. For a sling you actually shoot with, a side position at 3 or 9 o'clock generally rides better against the body.

Will it fit an M-LOK foregrip or rail panel?
Any genuine M-LOK slot, yes. It is backed by a Sylvan Arms two-year warranty.
