Quick Detach Sling Mount Solutions – Quick Detach End Plate With Swivel

A quick detach end plate that replaces the receiver end plate on an AR-pattern rifle to add a rear QD sling point. It is supplied with a swivel, so it works as a rear attachment point straight away. This is the standard answer for the rear anchor on an AR, because there is rarely rail or M-LOK back there to mount anything else to.

What it replaces

The end plate is the flat plate sandwiched between the rear of the receiver and the buffer tube, held in place by the castle nut. Swapping it for this one adds a QD socket at the rear of the receiver without modifying the rifle in any permanent way — the original plate goes back in if you ever want it.

Check first: you may already have one

A lot of AR-pattern rifles ship with a QD socket already, and owners never notice. Before ordering, look at:

• The existing end plate — some come with a socket on one or both sides from the factory.
• The buttstock — collapsible stocks frequently have sockets moulded into each side near the toe.

If you find a socket, you only need a QD sling swivel, not a new end plate.

Fitting note

Changing the end plate means loosening the castle nut, which is a staked fastener on many rifles. It is a straightforward job with a castle nut wrench, but it is not tool-free like an M-LOK attachment. If you would rather not disturb the buffer tube assembly and your stock has a socket, use the stock socket instead.

Is a rear QD point better than a one-point setup?
They are different jobs. A rear end plate socket can serve as the single anchor for a one-point sling, or as the rear anchor of a two-point. A two-point carries better for almost everyone — see one-point vs two-point slings compared.

Does it fit AR-10 and .308 rifles?
End plates follow the AR receiver extension pattern, so it fits AR-pattern rifles using a standard buffer tube. Confirm your rifle uses a conventional castle nut and end plate rather than a proprietary stock system.

Does the swivel come with it?
This is supplied as an end plate with swivel. Additional QD swivels are available separately if you need one for the front anchor too.

Will this work on a pistol brace setup?
If the brace uses a standard receiver extension with a castle nut and end plate, yes. Proprietary or fixed-tube designs may not accept a replacement plate.
