Sling attachment guidance for the Franchi Affinity. Check your exact configuration and both connectors before choosing the McLean Shotgun Sling. Factory attachment points do not by themselves confirm a direct fit.

Front attachment
Magazine-cap stud on documented Affinity 3/3.5 models — factory attachment point.
Franchi’s 2023 catalog identifies the cap sling stud on the Affinity 3 and 3.5. This is a stud interface, not a push-button QD cup. The 2025 platform revision includes a redesigned cap, so identify the generation before choosing a replacement.
Factory attachment point: a stud needs a compatible sling swivel to provide a loop. Confirm the swivel dimensions and attachment type; the sling hook does not attach directly to a bare stud.
Rear attachment
Stock attachment on documented Affinity 3/3.5 models — not confirmed for every configuration.
The 2023 factory diagram labels a rear sling attachment point, but it does not establish the insert and swivel supplied with every stock. Inspect the actual stock provision and confirm the matching fitting. The pictured catalog model does not establish equipment on the redesigned 2025/2026 guns.
Attachment details are not confirmed for every configuration. Check the exact model and manufacturer documentation before buying hardware.
Why this sling on the Franchi Affinity
A hunting shotgun spends most of the day carried, not shouldered — across fields, in and out of a blind, over a boat gunwale. The sling needs to sit still while walking and come off fast when a bird flushes.
The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the shotgun against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.
Fitting it
- Clear the shotgun. Unload and clear it following the firearm manufacturer’s instructions before fitting any accessories.
- Front: confirm a compatible connector and follow the sling and attachment manufacturer instructions.
- Rear: confirm the matching connector for your stock or rear attachment; do not assume a slot, stud and QD cup are interchangeable.
- Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
- Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.
Questions
Does the McLean Shotgun Sling fit the Franchi Affinity?
Compatibility depends on the exact configuration and connectors. Confirm both attachment points and the connector fit before ordering. A factory attachment point does not by itself confirm a direct fit for the McLean sling.
Do I need a snap hook for the front of my Franchi Affinity?
The McLean sling already carries a front hook. Choose a compatible attachment loop or swivel for that hook, and confirm its clearance and closure on your exact setup before buying additional hardware.
What do I need to buy for the Franchi Affinity?
Front: Factory attachment point: a stud needs a compatible sling swivel to provide a loop. Confirm the swivel dimensions and attachment type; the sling hook does not attach directly to a bare stud. Rear: Attachment details are not confirmed for every configuration. Check the exact model and manufacturer documentation before buying hardware.
What length sling do I need for the Franchi Affinity?
There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
