Sling for the Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3) — Fitment & Mounts

Yes — the McLean Shotgun Sling fits the Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3). The front of the sling carries its own hook, so up front it only needs a loop to clip onto — never a second hook.

Front attachment

Sling swivel stud — already on the gun.

Benelli lists BE.S.T.-treated sling studs in the SBE3 specification.

You need a sling swivel in the stud. The stud itself is just a threaded post — a swivel screws into it and gives the sling’s hook the loop it clips to. Any standard sling swivel fits.

Rear attachment

Sling swivel stud — already on the gun.

Stud in the buttstock.

You need a sling swivel in the stud. The stud is a threaded post, not a loop — a standard sling swivel screws into it and gives the sling something to attach to.

Why this sling on a Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3)

A hunting shotgun spends most of the day carried, not shouldered — across fields, in and out of a blind, over a boat gunwale. The sling needs to sit still while walking and come off fast when a bird flushes.

The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the shotgun against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.

Fitting it

  1. Clear the shotgun. Tube unloaded, action open, chamber checked visually and physically.
  2. Front: clip the sling hook to the sling swivel stud.
  3. Rear: attach at the sling swivel stud.
  4. Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
  5. Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.

Questions

Does the McLean Shotgun Sling fit a Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3)?

Yes. At the front the sling uses its own hook, so it needs a loop to clip to: the sling swivel stud (already fitted). At the rear it attaches at the sling swivel stud (already fitted).

Do I need a snap hook for the front of my Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3)?

No. The McLean sling carries its own hook at the front as part of the retention system. It only needs something to hook onto — a factory loop, a swivel, or any loop you add. Buying a second snap hook for the front is wasted money.

What do I need to buy for a Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3)?

Nothing at the front — the sling swivel stud is already on the gun. At the rear the sling swivel stud is already there too.

What length sling do I need for a Benelli Super Black Eagle (SBE 3)?

There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
