Sling for the Benelli Montefeltro — Fitment & Mounts

Sling attachment guidance for the Benelli Montefeltro. Check your exact configuration and both connectors before choosing the McLean Shotgun Sling. Factory attachment points do not by themselves confirm a direct fit.

Front attachment

60622 accessory cap for eligible 12/20-gauge models — aftermarket attachment option.

ShopBenelli lists magazine cap 60622 with a sling eyelet for 12- and 20-gauge Montefeltro, Legacy and SuperSport shotguns, and explicitly excludes Montefeltros made after 2023. This is an accessory option for the listed configurations, not evidence that every Montefeltro ships with a front attachment.

Aftermarket attachment option: confirm the connector fits and closes fully on the exact attachment. The existence of a loop does not establish McLean connector clearance.

Rear attachment

Stock attachment not confirmed — not confirmed for every configuration.

Cap 60622 only addresses the front attachment. It does not establish a rear stud, swivel or socket on your Montefeltro stock. Confirm the rear solution for the exact stock and production year before choosing a complete sling kit.

Attachment details are not confirmed for every configuration. Check the exact model and manufacturer documentation before buying hardware.

Why this sling on the Benelli Montefeltro

A hunting shotgun spends most of the day carried, not shouldered — across fields, in and out of a blind, over a boat gunwale. The sling needs to sit still while walking and come off fast when a bird flushes.

The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the shotgun against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.

Fitting it

  1. Clear the shotgun. Unload and clear it following the firearm manufacturer’s instructions before fitting any accessories.
  2. Front: confirm a compatible connector and follow the sling and attachment manufacturer instructions.
  3. Rear: confirm the matching connector for your stock or rear attachment; do not assume a slot, stud and QD cup are interchangeable.
  4. Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
  5. Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.

Choosing hardware for your configuration

Before ordering a cap, identify the gauge, full model and production year. The 60622 listing covers 12 and 20 gauge and excludes Montefeltros made after 2023; a purchase date alone does not identify the production year. Confirm the exact part for a transition-year or uncertain gun with Benelli.

For a Montefeltro made after 2023, do not order 60622 based on the Montefeltro name. This guide has not established a replacement front attachment for that configuration. Have Benelli confirm a compatible option before adding hardware to your order.

For an eligible older configuration, plan the front cap and rear attachment as separate items. Once both are confirmed, select the sling and any missing compatible connectors. The McLean front hook is included, but its clearance and full closure on the cap eyelet still need to be checked.

Questions

Does the McLean Shotgun Sling fit the Benelli Montefeltro?

Compatibility depends on the exact configuration and connectors. Confirm both attachment points and the connector fit before ordering. A factory attachment point does not by itself confirm a direct fit for the McLean sling.

Do I need a snap hook for the front of my Benelli Montefeltro?

The McLean sling already carries a front hook. Choose a compatible attachment loop or swivel for that hook, and confirm its clearance and closure on your exact setup before buying additional hardware.

What do I need to buy for the Benelli Montefeltro?

Front: Aftermarket attachment option: confirm the connector fits and closes fully on the exact attachment. The existence of a loop does not establish McLean connector clearance. Rear: Attachment details are not confirmed for every configuration. Check the exact model and manufacturer documentation before buying hardware.

What length sling do I need for the Benelli Montefeltro?

There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
