Which McLean Sling Package Do I Need?

Choose the DRS strap first, then add only the compatible hardware your setup needs. The rifle and shotgun product listings sell the same physical sling. Your firearm’s attachment points determine the connectors and mounts, not the label on the listing.

Swipe to compare all columns.

1. Choose the strap and color

The DRS rifle and shotgun listings offer Black, Coyote Brown, MultiCam and Ranger Green. Pick the color you prefer from the live product selector. Buying the shotgun listing does not change the physical strap into a different model.

If shoulder padding is a must-have, compare that requirement before buying. Check usable adjustment range when fit over bulky clothing or a larger frame is a concern. Our review guide includes both positive carry feedback and an owner’s sizing limitation.

2. Identify what is already on your firearm

A socket, a swivel stud and a fixed loop are different attachment provisions. Write down what is present at each approved sling location, including any replacement stock or handguard. Do not order a new socket simply because a product photo shows one if your setup already has a compatible socket.

Use the model guides to identify the checks for your platform. If you cannot identify the interface, get confirmation with the exact model and clear photos before ordering.

3. Add only the connectors and mounts you need

The QD hardware guide separates the strap, connecting hardware and firearm-side mount. A swivel may connect to an existing socket; a different setup may need an approved mount as well. Matching the interface is more useful than buying every item described as a sling accessory.

The kit builder lets you select items together. Review the final line items and quantities. A color selection alone does not mean a pair of swivels or mounts has been added.

4. Review the complete order

  • Confirm the exact sling and color.
  • Check the contents of each selected product.
  • Confirm connector type, quantity and compatibility.
  • Verify that any required firearm-side mounts are already present or selected.
  • Review current availability, checkout total and shipping, returns and warranty terms.

Shopping for a crossbow?

Start with crossbow fitment and the bow manufacturer’s approved attachment provisions. A rifle sling label neither proves nor rules out fit. There is no universal hardware package for all bows.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the rifle and shotgun DRS listings?

They sell the same physical DRS strap. Choose the listing that matches your shopping context, then confirm compatible mounting hardware for your exact firearm.

Which hardware is included with a color choice?

A color selection does not select a hardware package. Do not assume QD swivels, hooks or firearm-side mounts are included; review the exact product contents and chosen line items.

Do I need to buy a mount for every attachment point?

Not necessarily. Your firearm may already have compatible approved attachment provisions. Identify those first so you do not purchase duplicate or incompatible parts.

Is there a universal crossbow package?

No universal fit is established here. Confirm the exact crossbow’s approved attachment points and compatible connectors before selecting a sling and hardware.

Where can I check returns and warranty terms?

Read the current McLean Shipping and Returns page before ordering. Different terms apply to webbing and stitching versus metal hardware.
