Sling for the BCM RECCE-16 — Fitment & Mounts

Yes — the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS) fits the BCM RECCE-16. The front of the sling carries its own hook, so up front it only needs a loop to clip onto — never a second hook.

Why this sling on a BCM RECCE-16

An AR spends far more time carried than fired — on a patrol, walking a treeline, working a barricade. The problem a two-point solves badly is the transition: loose enough to shoulder fast, and it swings when your hands are busy. Cinched retention fixes that without a second sling.

The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the rifle against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.

Fitting it

  1. Clear the rifle. Tube unloaded, action open, chamber checked visually and physically.
  2. Front: clip the sling hook to the M-LOK slot in the MCMR handguard.
  3. Rear: attach at the BCMGUNFIGHTER stock or receiver end plate.
  4. Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
  5. Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.

Questions

Does the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS) fit a BCM RECCE-16?

Yes. At the front the sling uses its own hook, so it needs a loop to clip to: the M-LOK slot in the MCMR handguard (added separately). At the rear it attaches at the BCMGUNFIGHTER stock or receiver end plate (added separately).

Do I need a snap hook for the front of my BCM RECCE-16?

No. The McLean sling carries its own hook at the front as part of the retention system. It only needs something to hook onto — a factory loop, a swivel, or any loop you add. Buying a second snap hook for the front is wasted money.

What do I need to buy for a BCM RECCE-16?

At the front you need a loop: The MCMR handguard is M-LOK with no QD socket machined in. BCM's own MCMR-SM sling mount is sold separately and takes a standard push-button QD swivel, which is also not included — budget for both. At the rear: Confirm whether your BCMGUNFIGHTER stock carries a QD cup; a QD end plate behind the lower is the fallback that fits any build.

What length sling do I need for a BCM RECCE-16?

There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
