Sling for the Ruger PC Charger — Fitment & Mounts

Sling attachment guidance for the Ruger PC Charger. Check your exact configuration and both connectors before choosing the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS). Factory attachment points do not by themselves confirm a direct fit.

Front attachment

M-LOK handguard slots, no sling point supplied — aftermarket attachment option.

Ruger's specification for model 29100 lists M-LOK slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions of the handguard and a factory-installed handstop at 6 o'clock. It lists no front sling attachment. A forward sling point means adding an M-LOK sling mount to one of the side slots.

Aftermarket attachment option: a webbing slot is not a QD cup or proof that a hook fits. Confirm the connector and webbing dimensions for this opening.

Rear attachment

Integrated rear QD cups in the chassis — factory attachment point.

Ruger states that the chassis has integrated rear-mounted QD cups for slings. A QD cup accepts a push-button QD swivel. The rear Picatinny rail is described by Ruger as a mount for a brace, not as a sling point.

Factory attachment point: a QD cup needs a matching swivel; a socket provision may also need a separate cup. Confirm what is installed and what the hardware includes.

Why this sling on the Ruger PC Charger

A PCC is short and light, which makes it easy to carry badly — slung loose it swings into everything. Competition and home-defence use both want it locked flat to the body between stages, then instantly free.

The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the carbine against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.

Fitting it

  1. Clear the carbine. Unload and clear it following the firearm manufacturer’s instructions before fitting any accessories.
  2. Front: confirm a compatible connector and follow the sling and attachment manufacturer instructions.
  3. Rear: confirm the matching connector for your stock or rear attachment; do not assume a slot, stud and QD cup are interchangeable.
  4. Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
  5. Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.

Choosing hardware for your configuration

The PC Charger is a pistol. Ruger documents the rear QD cups and the rear Picatinny rail on its standard models and notes that listed features may not appear on distributor exclusive models. Match the model number on your pistol to its own specification sheet.

The rear cups allow a single-point setup without extra parts, provided the sling has a push-button QD swivel. A two-point setup also needs an M-LOK mount at the front. Check which pieces are supplied with the sling so that the same adapter is not bought twice.

Questions

Does the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS) fit the Ruger PC Charger?

Compatibility depends on the exact configuration and connectors. Confirm both attachment points and the connector fit before ordering. A factory attachment point does not by itself confirm a direct fit for the McLean sling.

Do I need a snap hook for the front of my Ruger PC Charger?

The McLean sling already carries a front hook. Choose a compatible attachment loop or swivel for that hook, and confirm its clearance and closure on your exact setup before buying additional hardware.

What do I need to buy for the Ruger PC Charger?

Front: Aftermarket attachment option: a webbing slot is not a QD cup or proof that a hook fits. Confirm the connector and webbing dimensions for this opening. Rear: Factory attachment point: a QD cup needs a matching swivel; a socket provision may also need a separate cup. Confirm what is installed and what the hardware includes.

What length sling do I need for the Ruger PC Charger?

There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
