Sling for the KRISS Vector — Fitment & Mounts

Sling attachment guidance for the KRISS Vector. Check your exact configuration and both connectors before choosing the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS). Factory attachment points do not by themselves confirm a direct fit.

Front attachment

M-LOK handguard or barrel shroud slot (Gen 3) — aftermarket attachment option.

The KRISS Gen 3 manual lists an M-LOK Gen 3 handguard on the short-barrel models and an M-LOK Gen 3 square shroud on the CRB. A sling mount has to be added to a slot before the front of a sling can attach. On Gen 2 models the manual lists an M-LOK modular rail only on certain versions, so check the firearm.

Aftermarket attachment option: a webbing slot is not a QD cup or proof that a hook fits. Confirm the connector and webbing dimensions for this opening.

Rear attachment

Rear sling loop (Gen 3 stock models) — factory attachment point.

The Gen 3 manual labels a rear sling loop in its main features, drawn on the model with the KRISS telescopic folding stock. A loop takes webbing or a clip; it is not a QD cup. The Gen 2 manual instead labels a quick detach sling swivel on the SDP pistol versions only.

Factory attachment point: confirm the connector fits and closes fully on the exact attachment. The existence of a loop does not establish McLean connector clearance.

Why this sling on the KRISS Vector

A PCC is short and light, which makes it easy to carry badly — slung loose it swings into everything. Competition and home-defence use both want it locked flat to the body between stages, then instantly free.

The McLean design is a two-point sling with a patented retention system: it cinches tight to hold the carbine against your body hands-free, then releases into a ready position in one pull. It ships in one size and adjusts, so there is no length to choose.

Fitting it

  1. Clear the carbine. Unload and clear it following the firearm manufacturer’s instructions before fitting any accessories.
  2. Front: confirm a compatible connector and follow the sling and attachment manufacturer instructions.
  3. Rear: confirm the matching connector for your stock or rear attachment; do not assume a slot, stud and QD cup are interchangeable.
  4. Adjust wearing your kit. A setting dialled in without a vest comes up short once it is on.
  5. Check the transition. It should shoulder without pulling tight across your chest.

Choosing hardware for your configuration

Vector generations and models differ. The Gen 3 manual covers the SDP, SBR and CRB, and the Gen 2 manual covers the SDP, SBR, CRB and their Enhanced and Origin versions. Fixed-stock featureless models and pistols with a rear Picatinny stock mount have different rear arrangements from the folding-stock carbine.

A rear sling loop, a QD sling swivel and an M-LOK slot are not interchangeable. Record what is present at each end of your Vector, then check which connectors come with the sling. The cited manuals identify factory fittings and do not cover aftermarket stocks or braces.

Questions

Does the McLean Dynamic Retention Sling (DRS) fit the KRISS Vector?

Compatibility depends on the exact configuration and connectors. Confirm both attachment points and the connector fit before ordering. A factory attachment point does not by itself confirm a direct fit for the McLean sling.

Do I need a snap hook for the front of my KRISS Vector?

The McLean sling already carries a front hook. Choose a compatible attachment loop or swivel for that hook, and confirm its clearance and closure on your exact setup before buying additional hardware.

What do I need to buy for the KRISS Vector?

Front: Aftermarket attachment option: a webbing slot is not a QD cup or proof that a hook fits. Confirm the connector and webbing dimensions for this opening. Rear: Factory attachment point: confirm the connector fits and closes fully on the exact attachment. The existence of a loop does not establish McLean connector clearance.

What length sling do I need for the KRISS Vector?

There is no length to choose. The sling ships in one size and adjusts, so the same sling covers carry and cinched retention. Set it wearing the kit you actually carry in — a setting dialled in without a vest or heavy coat comes up short once it is on.
